Tap Supermarket Game Review
Tap Supermarket Game Background
Tap Supermarket is an idle tapping game where you grow and manage the operations of a large big box-style store. Watch the customers shop, help them through the checkout, and restock the shelves they empty out. Afterward, use your profits to expand the business and improve the rating of your store.
How to Play Tap Supermarket
On the welcome screen, select New Game at the center to begin. If you’ve played the game before, select Continue to pick up where you last left off. To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the screen with your fingers.
Once you start, customers will start to wander the store by themselves. They will move among the aisles and pick up items from the shelves. Over time, the shelves become empty. Restock the shelves by selecting them; the workers at the back room will automatically bring in what’s needed to the empty shelves.
After a few trips, the pallets containing new stock will be empty. Select the pallets to order new stock; this will take a while to arrive. Until then, the workers cannot restock.
When they’re done shopping, the customers will move to the checkout counter. The checkout will process the payments of the customers autonomously but slowly. Select the checkout counter to speed the process along and prevent lines from forming.
Use the money you earn to add new store shelves and an extra checkout counter. Select an inactive facility to add it to your store. Once it is active, this facility cannot be deactivated again. The more extra facilities you add to your store, the higher your star rating will be. A fully furnished store is worth 5 stars.
The game continues for as long as you want. To quit the game, select the gear button, then select the exit button. Your browser will save your progress; the game will give you the opportunity to either resume when you reload the game or clear your progress and start anew. Upon quitting, you have the option to share your score with your contacts on Facebook, Twitter, or WhatsApp.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The main goal of the game is to earn a 5-star rating. To do that, you must slowly expand by buying out as many new shelves and other facilities as possible. Earn money for expansion faster by tapping repeatedly at the checkout counters when lines start forming.
The game continues to run whether the tab is active or not. We recommend quitting the game if you plan on moving away from the game’s tab for more than a few seconds. Leaving the game running unattended for too long and too many store shelves will run out of stock. This is especially challenging when the store gets too big.
Whenever you quit and reload the game, the store is automatically fully restocked and cleared of customers. This gives you the opportunity to have a fresh start to the game without starting over.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
During the early game, focus your efforts on improving your cash flow and keeping the store stocked. The first facilities you should set up are the second checkout counter and the third pallet. The checkout counter will bolster cash flow by giving customers another place to line up. Meanwhile, the pallet will help you keep up with the ever-present need to restock.
The key to keeping the store well-stocked is by staggering your pallet orders. This means ensuring that there’s always at least two pallets full each time one of the pallets runs out. The moment a pallet empties, select it to order new stock. This will ensure that the pallet is filled again (or close to it) when one of the others is about to run out.
Expand slowly. The game gets fast-paced quickly otherwise and you can easily get overwhelmed. Get accustomed to the current pace of the game before buying new shelves.
Educational Aspects
The game hones task switching and time management skills, especially around the late game where keeping the shelves stocked becomes increasingly challenging. It also gives younger players a simplified look at the operations of a large big box-type store, though it leaves out key details like operational expenses some of our other games incorporate.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is suited to players ranging from older school-aged children to adults. Very young players might find it either too challenging or too boring. We recommend it for people who like idle tapping and simple tycoon games.
