Fruit Snake Game Background

Fruit Snake is an endless eating game inspired by the Snake games played on cellphones in the 1990s and early 2000s. Like the old mobile favorite, you must move the snake toward the food to eat it without hitting itself. However, you must reach the food before the timer expires.

How to Play Fruit Snake

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the loading screen, select the play button to bring up the welcome screen. On the welcome screen, select the play button at the center to begin. Select anywhere on the game screen to begin.

The snake automatically moves by itself. Control the direction of its movement by doing the following:

• For desktops, pressing the left and right arrows on your keyboard
• For touchscreen devices, tapping on the left and right arrows on either corner of the screen with your fingers

The snake turns clockwise when selecting the left arrow and counterclockwise when selecting the green arrow. Guide the snake to the fruit as quickly as you can to replenish the timer near the top right corner of the screen. If you fail to reach the fruit before the timer expires, the game ends.

You start the game with 3 lives. Each time the snake passes through itself, you lose a life. Lose all your lives and it’s game over.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Every fruit you successfully eat is worth 1 point. Fruits also extend your time, allowing you to play for longer. Pay attention to where the fruit is; sometimes, it could be hidden by the leaves of the trees on the edge of the screen.

This game resembles the versions of classic Snake that have no borders. If the snake passes through any of the edges of the screen, they will come out the opposite end. For instance, if the snake disappears into the left side of the screen, it will re-emerge on the right.

Your web browser automatically saves your best score. The game shows your best and latest scores on both the game over screen and the welcome screen. On the game over screen, select the Facebook and Twitter buttons to share the game with your friends on social media.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Unlike most classic Snake games, this one can only make the snake move left to right. This is the most challenging part of the game and you may need some time to get accustomed to the controls. One way to ease your way in is to press the arrow keys or tap on the arrow buttons gently. This will help you steer the snake in the intended direction.

Take advantage of the way the level wraps around itself to save time. Moving to the edges to collect a fruit on the opposite end of the screen can be faster than crossing the rest of the screen to get there.

This game tests a player’s reaction time and spatial thinking skills. Players must know when to choose the shortest route to their destination and steer the snake in that direction.
