Endless Siege Game Review
Endless Siege Game Background
Endless Siege is a tower defense game developed by RavalMatic. Your goal is to keep the orcs from reaching the other end of the path by placing defensive structures on the squares around it. Defend the path for as many waves as you can. Each day brings a new path to play on, offering a lot of gameplay variety.
How to Play Endless Siege
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Play to begin. You automatically play the current map of the day.
If you’re playing for the first time, the game will guide you through a simple tutorial sequence that describes a typical game. After that, the game segues to an actual session.
Drop any of the towers onto any of the spaces that are not paths. These could be ballistae, torches, cannons, or time warper. Towers will either damage the enemy or slow them down. Spend all your money buying or upgrading your towers before hitting the Next Wave button at the entrance of the path. Doing so will summon the orcs.
The towers will attack the orcs until they move out of range. Ideally, you should place your towers in such a way that they slay the orcs before they come out of range. The orcs you kill will grant you money, which you can use to buy more towers. You can choose to buy new towers immediately or wait until the wave is vanquished. You can also sell towers to gain back an empty square, which you can then use for another type of tower.
Your web browser automatically saves your best score. Your best score is saved only when you end a session in a game over.
Basic Gameplay Advice
By default, you can choose when you start a wave. You can hit the Next Wave button as many times as you want, though unless you’re well-defended, we recommend summoning the waves one at a time. You can also automate the waves by toggling the manual/automatic button on the bottom right corner of the screen.
There are 4 types of towers.
- The ballista is the cheapest. It attacks by rapidly shooting arrow bolts at oncoming orcs.
- The torch shoots concentrated fire balls at the orcs.
- The cannon shoots the slowest and is the most expensive of the towers that attack directly. It also causes the most damage.
- The time warper does not harm the orcs directly but slows them down as they walk past its area of effect. This will allow surrounding towers to damage them. These are the most expensive towers in the game.
Besides buying more towers, you can also level them up or upgrade them. Towers are leveled up and upgraded individually. Leveling up or upgrading towers boosts their attack strength and speed, allowing them to dispatch orcs with greater efficiency. Throughout the early and mid-game, it makes more sense to level up your towers than simply building more of them.
Upgrading the towers changes their effects. There are 3 tiers of upgrades for each of the tower types. However, upgrades are quite costly; it’ll take time for you to earn enough cash to upgrade the towers.
You begin each session with 20 hearts. Each time an orc gets past your defenses, you lose a heart. Lose all your hearts and it’s game over. Your hearts appear on the top right corner of the screen.
If you find yourself with poor placement and don’t want to lose, you can always start again. To restart the game, select the hamburger button, then select the restart button on the adjustments screen.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
You can individually customize each of the towers you place downs by selecting them and choosing the strategy and target options. Using these options, you can specify whether a tower would attack enemies based on their location or relative strength. Refining the towers’ strategy can help you deal with more formidable orc hordes later in the game.
Of the towers, the ballistae and torches are the most useful in the early game. Ballistae fire quickly and are cheap, while torches do slightly more damage at a comparable speed. Once tougher orcs arrive, it becomes paramount that you invest not only in the cannons but also on upgrades.
You can add and upgrade towers mid-game. When doing so, we recommend pausing the game to make sure that the orcs don’t move out of range. This will make investing in upgrades deliver returns more effectively.
Use the time warper tower to your advantage. These slow down the march of the orcs, allowing your other towers more time to dispatch them. They come especially in handy when dealing with powerful orcs that need several shots to take down.
Educational Aspects
This game teaches players the value of strategic planning in many aspects. Players must choose the right positions to take out powerful hordes of orcs and choose the right mix of towers to vanquish each wave in an efficient manner. It also stresses the importance of quality over quantity, as players will quickly find that leveled up towers are significantly better than more towers.
Player Age Recommendations
This game has some mild inappropriate language and features cartoon violence. Other than that, it is suitable for players ranging from older children to adults.
