Dangerous Road Game Background

This is an endless driving game where you try to keep a hotdog car on a long and meandering road above an endless sky. The concept is very similar to the game Drift Boss, with a few key differences. Besides the challenge of staying on the road, players must also contend with weather hazards that might push them off.

How to Play Dangerous Road

On the welcome screen, select play to begin.

Your vehicle automatically moves forward. On your keyboard, press the A key or the left arrow to steer to the left and the D key or right arrow to steer to the right. Press the space bar to get started.

Steer the vehicle so that it stays on the road. Avoid various obstacles as they emerge. Keep moving for as long as possible. The game ends when you fall off the road.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Steer the hotdog car so it stays close to the center of the road. Follow the curves of the road to avoid falling off. The game’s road consists of smooth curves rather than sharp angular turns, which make it slightly easier to stay on it.

To earn points, pass through translucent numbered barriers. Each barrier you pass through adds a point to your score. Your total score appears on the top center of the screen. Your web browser automatically saves your best score; you can compare your latest and best scores at the game over screen.

Weather-based obstacles will appear as you drive. Each of the obstacles have a different effect:

• Wind will push your vehicle to a particular direction. You must steer against it to keep your car from falling off.
• Puddles will cause you to move in the opposite direction of where you’re steering.
• Holes will cause you to plummet to your doom.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

When facing wind, consider steering only in one direction (i.e. opposite of where the wind is blowing) at all times. If you need to turn in the direction the wind is blowing, e.g. to the right, simply stop steering for however long it takes to follow the curve.

Puddles will only derail you if you try to steer while passing through them. Stop steering when passing through a puddle and you will simply move forward.

You can anticipate the appearance of an obstacle by the appearance of signs from a distance. If you see a small cloud in the sky, for example, that indicates the arrival of wind. Rainclouds near the road indicate either holes or puddles.

This game helps hone concentration, hand-eye coordination, and patience. It also teaches players to anticipate and prepare for oncoming obstacles before they arrive.
