Cookie Tap is a dessert-themed idle tapping game. Tap on the giant cookie to earn cookie currency, which you can then use to buy upgrades to generate cookie income automatically. The game’s concept is similar to Popsicle Clicker.

How to Play Cookie Tap

On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin. To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers.

The rules of the game are simple. Select the big cookie to generate more cookies. Keep clicking or tapping until you can afford an upgrade. Buy upgrades to generate a trickle of cookie income without pressing the big cookie.

On occasion, a second, smaller cookie will start to revolve around the big cookie. Select this cookie to gain a bonus. The value of this bonus depends on the number of upgrades you have.

Basic Gameplay Advice

There are five upgrades available:

• Cookie tapper
• Grandmas
• Farm
• Bakery
• Factory

The cookie income you generate from upgrades appears near the top center of the screen, just below your current earnings. With upgrades, you can also generate a cookie income while you’re not actively playing the game. You will receive the cookies you’ve earned once you open the game again.

Upgrades can be found on the bottom center row. A button on the top right of the upgrade menu lets you cycle between single upgrades, multiple upgrades, or the maximum number of upgrades you can afford. You have the option of buying multiple of a single type of upgrade or leveling up the ones you already have. To level up upgrades, use their button on the middle left edge of the screen.

You receive a multiplier after clicking or tapping on the cookie for a significant span of time. The more you select, the more the multiplier bar fills up. Each time the multiplier bar is filled, it adds a multiplier that increases the number of cookies you generate with every click or tap. Keep clicking or tapping on the cookie to keep the multiplier charged. The multiplier has a limit of 4 times the value of each click or tap. If you stop clicking or tapping, the multiplier meter decays; it will reset once it’s empty.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Tapping on the big cookie is necessary in the early game, where you need as many cookies as you can to pay for your first upgrades. With enough leveled-up upgrades, however, you barely need to click on the big cookie at all.

The upgrades have a ramping cost; each new upgrade costs more than the last. To save on cookies, consider buying several of them at once.

Buy as many upgrades as you can afford before quitting the game. This will increase your idle cookie income and help you pay for more upgrades when you return to the game.
