Candy Crush is a tile-breaking game involving sweets. Form rows of two or more candies to clear them from the screen. Meet the target number of candies within the number of moves provided to clear each stage.

The game was developed by Muscle-SS from CodeCanyon.com. Do not confuse this game with the similarly named Candy Crush Saga by King Games, which operates by a different set of rules.

How to Play Candy Crush

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers.

Select the play button at the center of the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen. On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.

To clear and collect candies, select a group of 2 or more candies. Once the candies are cleared, the ones above them will fall in. Clear the listed number of fruits candies on the top row to beat the stage. You must beat the level within the number of moves provided; your remaining available moves are shown on the top right corner of the screen. If you run out of moves, you fail the level.

Basic Gameplay Advice

The game has 50 different stages, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any level you’ve previously beaten. Each time you reload the game, however, your browser resets your game progress.

Use a power up if you’re ever stuck on a stage. The game provides you with 4 different power ups:

• The lollibomb lets you clear an entire horizontal row
• The dynamite clears a singular piece of candy
• The hand changes the type of candy you select at random
• Fireworks clear an entire vertical row

To use a power up, simply select its button on the bottom row. You start each game with 5 dynamites, 4 fireworks, 3 lollibombs, and 6 hands.

Each stage has a star rating, which is determined by the number of moves it took to finish the level. The meter close to the top row keeps track of your potential star rating. Each time the meter goes past a mark, you lose a star rating.

You start off with no coins and earn some each time you beat a level. You can use the coins you’ve earned from finishing a level to buy more power ups.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

The key to conserving moves is to clear multiple candies at once. Pay close attention to how the pile will move if you clear a candies and look for ways to combine groups of identical candies Remove small groups strategically to form larger groups that you can clear at once.

Use your power ups wisely. In the first levels, you won’t need to use your power ups, but in later ones you certainly will. Once you start to use them, replenish your supply using the coins you’ve earned in the past levels.
